Neighborhood Beat is a series spotlighting Brooklyn's diverse neighborhoods, produced, hosted and directed by local leaders and residents. Brooklyn has long been revered as an international city – a place where you can come to see the world! Over time its rich history has grown abundant through the convergence of people and cultures, artistic movements, the creation of grassroots organizations, and the development of ‘Mom & Pop’ businesses. Brooklyn communities are full of great stories and Neighborhood Beat was created to tell them. The Neighborhood Beat series strives to introduce “Brooklyn to Brooklyn” by encouraging viewers to become tourists at home and empowering residents to tell their story through the medium of television. Current featured neighborhoods include Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Gowanus, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick, Brownsville, East New York, Canarsie, Flatlands, DUMBO, Sheepshead Bay, Coney Island, Flatbush, East Flatbush, Red Hook, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Sunset Park, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope and Crown Heights.Neighborhood Beat is part of Brooklyn Independent Television, a community media program of BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn and can be seen on the BCAT TV Network every Thursday night at 8:30pm.

The Local Music Show video podcast showcases local artists and their music videos, is hosted by John Richards from KEXP and taped at live music venues around the city. Each episode features interviews, videos, information about what's going on in the local music scene, and special surprises, too. The Local Music Show is part of the SEATTLE CHANNEL'S Art Zone, an innovative, first-in-the-nation TV project that creates programming celebrating local arts and culture and encourages people to go out and take part in the region's rich cultural life in person. The Local Music Show is hosted by John Richards. Each show will highlight local musicians, their music, and videos.
